The Cocora Valley, 10 Km from Salento, is in a beautiful journey through valleys and mountains with heights between 1800 and 2400 meters. Here different kinds of plants are found, among them the Quindio Wax Palm or Ceroxylon Quindiuense declared as a National Tree according to law 061 of 1985.
When you get to this valley, you will find different kinds of restaurants that offer trout as their main dish, since there are trout hatcheries there.
From the valley you can go horseback riding for ecological outings and reach the Cerro Morrogacho with 3450 meters high, which can only be reached on foot.
It is also close to Los Nevados National Park, with altitudes from 2600 to 5321 meters, where we find climates ranging from cold to dense fog with temperatures ranging from 3 to 14 °C.
There are peaks such as the snow-capped mountains of Ruiz, Tolima and Santa Isabel; the snow-capped Paramillo del Quindio, lagoons, streams, waterfalls, the Acaime Natural Reserve where we find different varieties of birds.
